An occasional perspective from Forever Cowgirl

Welcome to my new experiment! I have not done a blog yet...better late than never as they say! :-) As our local "Beauty and the Beast Rodeo" is soon approaching, it's fitting to include this information!

Above is Joslyn Cabre, our original Forever Cowgirl, (my daughter) who started this site and created the Forever Cowgirl logo of the girl bucking horse rider! And here she is! This photo is from the Beauty and the Beast Rodeo 2012. Her beloved mare, a Frenchman's Guy granddaughter (owned by Bobby Brubaker and Carla Hubbard) that Jos nicknamed 'Bubbles' was "a little fresh" approaching the first barrel on that brisk spring day! Our local photographer, David Huber took a memorable collection of consecutive shots of this happening. At the same time, I had Joslyn's video camera capturing the whole thing! The mare began having her fit at the first barrel. Jos was amazing in her ability to not only stay on, but get control of the bitchiness and correct her to finish the entire barrel pattern, showing her who's boss and being the crowd pleaser that she was! It was quite a day with other fresh horses reacting to the cool spring weather and excitement of rodeo! I remember my son-in-law's horse, SuperGuy bucking with him before the rodeo while moving steers in the arena and one of the pick up men's horses bucked him off while he was roping a steer to move out of the arena as well.

ANYWAY...some days after this rodeo, Joslyn put together a video of her ride:

I'm not sure i did that right, so please see youtube.com "bucking barrels at Ten Sleep Rodeo".

Today was spent inside, mostly, getting this site worked on. As Joslyn started this, it has been a chore for me to continue and keep updated. It is my promise to do a better job of it!

I did get to drive up Cherry Creek Hill to see the new green grass and snow still on the top line.

In two latest publications, the Wrangler and Rodeo News, are both the Beauty and the Beast Rodeo ad and our very own Joslyn Cabre, the Forever Cowgirl article informing one and all of the barrel race in her honor. The Annual Forever Cowgirl Memorial barrel race is May 27th in Ten Sleep, Wyoming. Jos's hometown. David Love, the stock contractor and fan of Ten Sleep rodeo spearheaded the ads and Carla Hubbard, Joslyn's long time mentor and friend, wrote the article, with very few edits by me. We are looking forward to this event with much enthusiasm!
