R.I.P. Frenchman’s Guy
Rest In Peace, Frenchman’s Guy. I didn’t know you personally, but you sired a spunky little mare my Forever Cowgirl rode and loved....
Ten Sleep Tribute 2025
This year, being the 10th year we have offered the Forever Cowgirl Scholarship and
commemorative Montana Silversmiths buckle award, was special in that we not only
awarded one, but 4 scholarships (and the one special buckle)!! Local Wyoming
cowgirls submitted their essays on why they desired this award and thanks to many
donations in Joslyn’s grandfather’s honor, the Forever Cowgirl committee was able to
award more than one scholarship.
The Fourth of July celebration was the ideal time to coordinate the awards so that the
winners could be recognized in the parade and at the rodeo.
Gathering the cowgirls and their parents, friends and siblings to the shelter at Vista Park
on July 3rd, proved to be a happy celebration and we were proud to introduce our
winners;
Congratulations to Savanna Schwenke, age 17 from North Four Mile Creek Horse
Ranch, Gillette, daughter of Mark and Tiffany Schwenke and granddaughter of Tut
Camblin (2025 Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame) won the scholarship and buckle.
She aspires to continue ranching with family and attend clinics to learn more
horsemanship skills. She is a member of FFA, 4H and
both the National High School and Little Britches Rodeo Associations. Savanna carried
the Forever Cowgirl flag in the Ten Sleep parade and rodeo.
Congratulations to Ten Sleep’s own, Bree Jackson, age 17, daughter of Bo and Jessica
Jackson, received a scholarship and has a passion for her ranching lifestyle and wants
to further her horsemanship and stockmanship knowledge and promote and advocate
for the cowboy way of life. Her goals include attending the Elko Poetry gathering and
Art of the Cowgirl events and college. Bree is a gifted poet and writer.
Congratulations to Chloe Cauffman, age 13 of Burlington, daughter of Stetson and
Savanna Cauffman was awarded a scholarship to further her goals of learning from
horsemanship clinics to train her horse, become a better rider and barrel race. She is a
member of FFA and 4H and is currently Big Horn County’s Rodeo princess and was last
year’s princess too.
And Congratulations to Roslyn Wiechmann, age 11 of Ten Sleep, daughter of Jason and
Chawna Wiechmann is a scholarship winner! She has many aspirations and knows
what she wants in life! Her goals are to help her family on their ranch, rope in the
branding pen, head and heel and break-away rope at rodeos. She wants to become a
better horsewoman and upgrade her tack.
It has been an honor to give these very deserving cowgirls their awards and get to know
their dreams. The future is bright!
12-9-22. My husband, Clint Branger and myself were asked to contribute a story to our friends' book, "Spirit Wind Horsemanship". We were happy to put in our 2 cents on the rough stock perspective since Clint has raised bucking horses since 2002. Kurt and Alanna Steinke's knowledgable and entertaining book includes lots of photos!
Then, the Steinke's held a fundraiser for Forever Cowgirl, having their Karate students sell their books and were so generous to give to Forever Cowgirl Memorial fund! We are so grateful to the Steinkes of Kurt's Karate!
